ChemCar
The 6th ChemCar Competition will be a highlight of ECCE 2011. The one of a kind racing competition will feature eleven teams from two different continents. The student-developed cars' single source of power and control is a chemical reaction. Speed is not of the essence but travel distance accuracy. The 10 to 20 m distance is to be accomplished carrying an additional weight of up to 30%, which is named by the jury just prior (1h) to the start. The distance is only to be controlled by the quantity of the used chemicals, neither radio control of any kind nor the usage of brakes are allowed. The winner is determinated using a point system, in which the teams gain points for distance accuracy, as well as jury evaluated points for innovation in concept and design.
Race start is on Tuesday, September 27 at 18:00, combined with the ECAB 2011 Beer Brewing Contest. Drinks are provided for the audience.
The ChemCar Competition award ceremony will be held during the following contest party.
